Dr. Prevosti's Career Bio
Dr. Louis Prevosti received his training at Albany Medical College, New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, National Institutes of Health, and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He began his Atlanta cardiovascular surgery private practice 25 years ago. Dr. Prevosti has performed over 5000 open heart operations at Piedmont Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. At Piedmont Hospital he served as section chief of cardiothoracic surgery, medical director of the cardiovascular intensive care unit and telemetry unit, and chairman of the Patient Care Quality Improvement Committee.
Since 2011, Dr. Prevosti has dedicated himself full time to the treatment of venous disorders at VEINatlanta. He performs over 1000 vein treatment procedures each year. VEINatlanta is certified as a vein treatment center by the Intersocietal Accreditation Council. Dr. Prevosti is board certified in cardiovascular surgery and venous and lymphatic medicine (phlebology). He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the American College of Phlebology and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He is a registered physician vascular interpreter (RPVI) and a registered phlebology sonographer (RPhS).
